Michelle Huber-Ott RVT helps set-up Radioiodine Treatment Therapy Program
Friday, 02 April 2010 08:38

A representative from the El Paso Animal Emergency Center contacted our Radiologist, Dr. Royce Roberts to see if there was anyone that could help them set up and train their staff for a new Radioiodine Therapy program. Dr. Roberts highly recommended our own Michelle Huber-Ott, RVT from our Internal Medicine Department due to her impeccable record keeping and training. The first year of any new radioiodine program

is difficult and time consuming for any company to due with all the laws and procedures that must be adhered to. Michelle did an eight hour training in service for several technicians and a doctor which included client communication regarding radioiodine therapy as well as patient care before and after treatment. She also discussed the proper preparation of the nuclear ward and the necessary requirements for patient discharge. With the help of Cardinal Health Nuclear Pharmacy Services, she was also able to demonstrate the use of radioactive survey equipment. We want to thank Michelle for helping out El Paso Animal Emergency Center and representing CTVSH in El Paso, Texas on September 11, 2009.
