Emergency patients are seen based upon severity of injury. Life threatening cases are prioritized first, causing long wait times. Please call if your pet’s condition deteriorates while waiting and we will advise. Do not leave your designated parking space while waiting. Once your pet is examined, you will be presented with an estimate of charges and payment will be due at time of service. For your convenience and safety, payments are accepted via our website.

Dr. Alice Runk received her doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) degree from Texas A&M University in 1995.  She then completed a small animal internship and surgical residency at the University of Georgia in 1999.  Dr. Runk became board certified in veterinary surgery in 2000 and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS).  She is also a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA).  Dr. Runk returned home to Austin in 2003 and joined the CTVSEH surgery team.  She performs orthopedic, neurologic and soft tissue surgeries.  Dr. Runk has 2 dogs, Finn and Tommy. She enjoys hiking, snow skiing, traveling and watching football.
