Dr. Rae was born and raised in Dorchester Massachusetts and grew up playing baseball and hockey. His early college goal was Chemical Engineering but that was shelved when he discovered the wonders of Biology; eventually graduating with a degree in Biology from the University of Massachusetts.
He then graduated with the first class of veterinarians from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. Since graduation he has done general and emergency veterinary medicine in and around Boston (Natick, Brookline, Hanover), on the island of Nantucket and the Hamptons of Long Island, eventually ending up in Texas focusing on emergency medicine after meeting and marrying a Texan, Rebecca. Their lives are shared by their grown sons, Liam and Simon and dogs Robin (Chihuahua and Parvo survivor) and Gibson (Labrador). When he's not working, he can be found on his bicycle, on any number of local golf courses, playing guitar with friends, making something out of wood, taking photos, or on a leisurely walk with Gibson (Robin is older and an only occasional participant on walks )
