Dr. Lauren Pugliese grew up in Syracuse, New York.  She attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri where she received a Bachelors of Arts degree with dual majors in Biology and Comparative Literature.  She graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.  After veterinary school, Dr. Pugliese completed a small animal rotating internship in small animal surgery, medicine, and emergency medicine at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego.  Following this, a specialty surgical internship in surgery was completed with Dr. Jon Dee at Hollywood Animal Hospital.  Dr. Pugliese was the first Fitzpatrick Fellow for Orthopedics Research at the Ohio State University, performing research for Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick.  She then completed a Masters of Science degree with a thesis focusing on anatomy related to total hip replacement surgery and a surgical residency at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
